What a poor turn out by Tamworth people today. We were playing the top of the league on the back of an unbeaten run and only just over 600 could be bothered to turn out. This is worse than last season and yet we are in a higher league performing really well against the top clubs!! The club is doing fantastic on such a shoe string budget and the players are giving everything for the club. Come on Tamworth people show your support!! (Perhaps posted in the wrong place because people reading this are the converted - maybe its time for letters to the Herald again??)

I have got a life and TBH I don't get the abuse you give me at the start! It was a brilliant win, hence my point about how sad it was that so few people inTamworth bothered to turn out to see it. This team deserves far more support than it is getting. And as a bonus the club would get a lot more money to back the team!! I presume you agree with these points RRR?

:d/ Way to not get the point! I shouldn't really comment as, due to a bit of a financial crisis, I haven't been down The Lamb for a few weeks now, but LTR is correct, we are doing pretty good in the top division of non-league football and still can't even get close to 1000 Tammies through the gates. Ah well, I suppose you can't force the gloryhunters to support their local team and twelve quid a pop isn't going to tempt the pub crowd away from their Stella is it.

Scandalous turnout. I do not profess to be No.1 loyal supporter in any shape or form but just over 600 is quite shocking. Lets see how many turn up at Wembley IF we make it.A very big IF.

Very poor turnout to see the league leaders and whilst our friend is right to say those who were not there missed out big time the problem is how long can we keep turning over the big sides and competing at this level on such pathetic gates??
The fact more Tamworth people want to turn out to see the likes of Eastbourne Borough and Hayes & Yeading than a side who could be in League 2 next season is rather baffling. Especially as the overall crowd for Eastbourne was higher without over 200 away fans in attendance...WHY?????

I don't think that there is anything more the Tamworth folk can do to get more people through the gates. We had 600 Tammies there yesterday and that was with Villa playing away, Blues and Wolves playing today and WBA playing away. cr*p!
However, after driving past the Lamb on Thursday morning I noticed that the fixture board had not been changed, what if people did not have access to the website or the herald, how would they know if there was a game?
If need be, I'll change the fixture board after every home game, a bit of notice goes a long way

letters to the herald cant do any harm but our new PR man can hopefully start improving things.
As for the board Luke if the club wasnt hidden behind all that overgrown bushes and trees it might get seen a bit more. hundreds of cars drive past there every day and the club isnt taking advantage of that. Lets be honest as much as we love it the lamb looks a tip from the outside.

Just thinking about the cr*p attendances ( I know that I cant talk too much about showing up but I've got a good excuse), I have not noticed as many promotioins advertised as previously. When the kids got in free, we used to add on an extra thousand on the gate. An idea that I have not seen mentioned but I remember taking advantage at Bramall Lane in the 90's (yes, they are my 2nd team). We used to get tickets for three matches at slightly redueced prices - say £10 a ticket instead of £12. I don't know how expensive it is to print of 'x' amount of tickets but it might prove popular for a family if they know that they could save around £15 for buying tickets in advance.

advanced tickets is a good idea Nigerian Lamb. Might be worth a try. Especially as were so close to a potential visit to Wembley.
Start trying to hook the glory hunters now as the more stubs you've got the higher up the pecking order you will be for final tickets. If we dont get there then theyve come along to a few games anyway and we might convert a few or get old fans back
there used to be fixture posters in pubs too

Very harsh reply to the original post!
I think it is a poor attendance but it reflects football attendances everywhere at the moment. There are not too many clubs that get over 2000 in the BSP week in week out. Stevenage only bring approx. 150 away fans when they are top of the league and playing (in there eyes) a potentially easy fixture. They dont average a massive amount at home.
I think that this is roughly what Tamworth will get, maybe a couple of hundred more is a about the limit until another FA cup run or something. When I have been away this year they have a good turnout considering the home attendance figures.
Advertising can do no harm, but if facilities were improved i think that would bring in more fans, but i will get my head bitten off for mentioning facilities.
If the team are performing like they did saturday it looks like the smaller the crowd the better!

there used to be fixture posters in pubs too There is 90,000 seats in Wembley, do you really think anybody is going to have trouble/worry about getting a ticket?

:d/ what a t**tish comment, LTR never mentioned the result, if we are to maintain the standard of football you obviously enjoy we need more people paying to get in. simple economics sometimes it,s about the football. [running a footy club COSTS] DOUGHNUT

With the exception of Mansfield and Hayes,Tamworth are the most expensive team to watch at home for under 16 supporters the admission price of £6 is on par with Cambridge,York and Kettering. When you can get an under 16 in for £5 at The Villa for some matches I think Tamworth need to do some re-thinking on their pricing for youngsters as most Conf clubs have some promotions on at the minute and have better facilities to offer.4 Conf clubs are allowing under 8's in free including Rushden without any ticket offers.

Gotta agree with u KINGSBURY LAMB. I first started going down as I could afford to go there in my early teens. Walk to the ground + £1.50 entrance (I think) = Money left over for a cheeky beer at halftime, if anyone would buy it! There was no hance of going into Brum with my paper round money, each week for the footie.

With reference to the Eastbourne game, there was a scheme on that day that let local junior players in free if accompanied by a paying adult so £12 got and adult and child in rather than £18
