I don't really think Seb Lake Gaskin or Jay Smith are strong enough for mid-field and I'm still not convinced about Sheridan although he does huff and puff a lot. Others will certainly disagree.

I think Rodman has signed and is just injured. Think Farrell would be a good signing upfront. And Jorgenson if he fit enough.

Rodman's no use to 'man or beast' if he's already injured again before the season has started...... Millsy would be better off using his budget with someone who is'nt so injury prone......!

I thought that generally we played well and it was an entertaining game against Aberdeen. However I still don't think that the No.9 who played on Saturday is going to solve our goalscoring problems from last season. It is the first game I have seen this season so may be doing the chap an injustice. Our No.3 played really well after the stupid defensive error gave Aberdeen the lead in the 2nd minute. But.... who was the No.19 that came on with the mass substitution in the second half? Woeful performance and I was relieved when Mills pulled him off. As a whole the defence played well and I think will perform adequately, even Des showed that he has still got it. But in other areas I still think quality is missing (I know people will tell me the player budget is restrited and is the lowest in the league). Missing a Bradley Pritchard type of player? Jay Smith seems a little bit too casual although I think that having a quality player who can spray the ball about from that position is a good tactic but sometimes we needed Usain Bolt on the right wing on Saturday!!! Apologies for referring to players by the number on their shirts but I was too tight to buy a programme !!!!!

I thought Jay Smith was the best player on the pitch and as for the no.9 (perry) he had one chance and scored it, cant ask for any better really.

i agree...i thought Jay was excellent. rodman look good in flashes. all 3 centre backs who played over the 90 (including rowe) looked decent. keeper looked good but has gone! Seb looks hungry and beat his full back a few times too
perry took his chance well, but didnt really contribute anything else in the 90 minutes.

Jay played well I agree but he's one of those players who seems to sometimes want a bit too much time on the ball. He got caught a couple of times on Saturday. His passing at times was also a bit wayward to say the least but when he does get it right he does seem to have a good eye. All in all I thought Sat was a good run out summarised as follows: GK - need this sorting ASAP. It's OK getting someone in late if he's any good but the defence really need to get to know him. One of the highlights for me on Saturday was Wyldey calling for the ball from the keeper with a cry of "yes mate"!!!! Def - looked OK apart from whatever happened in the first 2 minutes. Good in the air and seem to have a bit more pace....apart from...not convinced about Wylde at left back though as he doesn't have that pace and may get caught out there. Mid - would like to see us with more of a ball winner. I know it was only a friendly but a couple of times they went straight through us with no real efforts to take the ball from them. Can't remember the new young lad's name who started in the middle but the game seemed to just pass him by. Otherwise OK Fwd - Rodman showed glimpses and Seb played well. Perry appears to be less mobile than Christie was (!) but you can't argue with his conversion rate on Saturday. Would like to see him put himself about a bit more All in all though a little more confident about the new season than I was before Saturday

I thought Perry's hold up play was good. Only problem being that there was no-one there to play off him. I cant remember the lads name but he came on in the second half, really fast from Notts County I think, well I would play him upfront with Perry, small man big man type of play.....
