Why,on earth,would players go on holiday in the middle of pre-season training? They have had May and June off and should have planned their holidays during these months. In my view quite ridiculous.

Adding to that. Just as the management are wanting to play their planned team for the start of the season a bunch of them won't be available for those build-up games.Amateurs.

Official definition of an amateur is that they don’t get paid for it Dan. Can understand players who obviously work and are forced to work an odd Saturday and have to miss a game however taking holidays when the season starts and for me that’s pre-season games shows a lack of commitment to the club their being paid by

Buggers up the mangemet plans to play their first team choice for the rest of pre-season ready for Aug 10th. Serves them right if other players prove good enough and they can't get in the team.

Depends when contract properly sets in.. And also, no game was pencilled in for Saturday (so players might have felt they could fit in short holiday). A last minute thing due to unforeseen circumstances.

No lack of commitment in my opinion. Bilston game only known about last minute. Players thought they had time off.

I remember seeing this game as being part of a deal to sign Dilano Reid so was surprised to see it not on the initial schedule. I wonder whether Bilston kicked up a fuss?
