Today's Chronicle has just arrived saying steps 1&2 will be able to start Sep 5th with us starting as Luke said, a fortnight later.

Sounds good to me.  Will this be with crowds?  The Prem and Championship have proved football without fans is pointless, but it certainly kills the theory that the fans are the most important thing in football.  Money is, but haven't we always known that?

Yes. As Luke said, I think it might be limited crowds. Maybe 25%, 30% capacity or something and build up from there but in reality that'll mean normal ish gates for most teams in our division.

Behind closed doors games just isn't feasible in non league.

Great, can't wait.  I will blow the cobwebs off my railcard and get my cider money ready. A game of football and a pint of cider...  My idea of Heaven :)
A day away from the arrogant red sh.te down here wouldn't go amiss either.

I definitely said the first one.

If we sit and have five each in town, we'll be helping social distancing at the Lamb by not being able to find the turnstile!!

The last pint I had was in the clubhouse last time I was down there, in March I think, so the chances of me drinking 5 pints and still being able to stand up, never mind see the game,  are remote.
Doubt we will be able to get in the Peel in any case.  With social distancing I think their limit might be about 10 customers :(

Not been in the town centre for a while but I’d assume the peel would have applied to have one of those pavement licences to have more seats out the front

Come September and October a lot of things will change, just look at the quarantining with Spain just announced

There is a lot of things that could go wrong between now and then but I stand by my view that football with crowds in some form will come before the end of furlough due to bad publicity of clubs going bust

Surrey play Middlesex in a friendly at the Oval tomorrow and Monday. 500 fans in tomorrow, 1,000 in on Monday.

They all have to provide contact details so I understand it and any cases monitored etc etc.

Now I accept those numbers are tiny and the Oval is absolutely massive but attempting this in July suggests that come Sept/Oct, things will look different.

I do feel for the clubs who can't really get any season ticket money in because they can't guarantee when fans will be allowed in.

Well it would appear we are starting to sell season tickets them very soon.
You can think I'm wrong, but that's no reason to quit thinking.
