Pure rumour but no inside knowledge to speak of. The NLP this weekend had interviews with managers from NLN and NLS talking of a mid September restart (12/19th) with crowds likely limited.

Given that the non league game has committed to starting at the same time, we could in theory only be 8/9 weeks away from restarting.

Whenever it is, I can't wait.

Pricey,
I thought I read somewhere that they were going to allow spectators up to 25% of a grounds capacity.
That would be okay for us with our crowds but not sure if you then have to social distance in the ground. Don’t know how they will do that at The Lamb.

Again, just rumours but I also saw 30% quoted. I guess you'd have to have some form of ticketing. Something like 30% capacity less the number of ST holders (if clubs get round to selling them) and then that number of tickets would be available.

Plenty of things we could do (mark out 2m on the terraces, mark out 1m for the new 1m+ rule, make face masks mandatory or even adopt the DfE approach and by September that is "there will not be social distancing").

And it will all be over by Christmas, probably. Never trust a word to come out of that pompous daddies boy.
I really hope all goes well, us Brits possibly more reserved than the yanks, but hey everyone loves a party.
Anyway let’s not make waves, especially second ones

Don't worry. I don't believe a word of what comes out of de Pfeffel's mouth but the practicality of the furlough scheme ending means clubs (particularly in the non league levels above us where there are more staff and bigger contracts) will need income before the end of October. It may be safe(r) by then or it may not but the PR disaster of causing a string of football clubs to fold would be worse than when that bellend did a driving test because he'd gone blind in Durham.

For that reason, I am pretty confident that in those weekends between possibly 19 Sept to 24 October we'll see a restart. Some of the discussions since Sunday suggest the Sept dates are optimistic but talk of the new year seems to have died down completely and football at lower levels, with fans, seems nearer than looked possible in April/May.

No, not heard anything.

If I were a club, I would be very reluctant to agree to that. If the situation was to not continue to improve after a month and fans couldn't be allowed in at that point, you have set a precedent of being able to play behind closed doors.

I'd be saying we'll start when fans come. If that means we start in October so be it and if fans aren't allowed in, we won't start. Clubs will lose money hand over fist if there is no grant for behind closed doors fixtures.

Agree. It makes no sense to play any league games behind close doors. It could actually push some clubs to the brink.

I think there was something on the Southern League website which said it looks as if it would start on 19th with the FA Cup early rounds starting the week before

Come September I think the guidance may change to allow say 25% of capacity with the potential to increase that the following month or two with social distancing of course but you never know what is round the corner but that sounds more logical to gradually allow people in with the potential then of increasing that if there is no spike locally

That does sound more sensible. Starting with no crowds is a very bad idea.
