Complete sh*te today. Kayden Crapson and Reece Styche in particular were shocking. Styche spent more time stationary than the corner flags. Their 2 centre halves, a fat bloke and a pensioner made mugs out our strikers. Completely embarrassing, and against a very poor Gainsborough side.

Personally I don't know how you can single out anyone for criticism when it was hard to find any of the team who played well. The only one I thought had an outstandingly bad game and worthy of singling out was the Ref. probably the worst this season.

Actually I thought Belshaw played well, and Hibbert ran his socks off and played well. The others not mentioned played badly, and the two mentioned in my original post were so shocking as to be almost unbelievable. Agree the ref was horrendous.

Agree Belshaw and Hibbert were the pick.

It says it all when Belshaw was our most dangerous attacker! So close with that header!

I thought Dom Smith had a very good game fortunately. He made two superb last minute tackles that kept us in the game. Wilkins for Thornton I thought was a strange substitution unless he was injured and had to come off. Not convinced that Wilkins is good enough.

Tactics all wrong. After 30 minutes of long ball and the 2 big defenders just clearing every time you would of thought we would try some thing different. Boston game is a must win or seeing it being the end of our season.

Totally agree with above posts , Dom was impressive as he should be and tactics were all wrong,
Not too sure what the forum thoughts are but if we are not careful our exciting end to the season may not happen.
We have phil trainer sitting patiently( and players ready to come back) trainer is ready to step up to any occasion and continually overlooked for a start.
He's been involved in the best of non-league games but I think it's time Andy to play your trump card
He knows what's expected and a player for the big occasion

Thoroughly depressing afternoon to be honest. The second half in particular annoyed me. We found ourselves a goal down at the break and in fairness to him, we have come from behind several times to pick up points and even wins under AM so it's unfair not to acknowledge that but the second half completely lacked urgency.

You won't turn round every losing situation and I appreciate that but I expected Gainsborough to have to withstand a barrage if they were going to take all the points. That just didn't happen. We barely created a chance. As above, I could exempt Dom Smith from criticism and Hibbo for his effort, Jon Adams didn't hide but didn't have his best game either but the rest of our outfield players were poor with Styche having a notably poor game.

There's a debate to be had about whether the right players were brought off but I would say that Wilkins, Taylor & Mettam contributed very close to bugger all between them once they came on. I expected us to be tearing into them and it just petered out in the end.

The positive way to look at this is it was so out of character for an AM home performance that there's good reason to hope it won't be repeated but we must get something Monday now or even two vastly improved home performances won't make any difference come the final reckoning.

That said, I'd have taken this in mid November so it's swings and roundabouts I suppose.

The bad news is time flies. The good news is we are the pilots

I am no in way having a pop at AM but I do believe that yesterday was the 1st time this season that he got his team selection and tactics wrong, I could not actually make out what the game plan was except to pump the ball forward hoping that Hibbert would win it in the air and that Styche (who for me looks uninterested or out of his depth, he spends more time protesting with referees than getting on with the game) would maybe make a run and get on the end of a knockdown.

From the 1st minute it was apparent that this was not going to work as their centrebacks were both going to win everything in the air, the subs were introduced too late, and to be honest the game was already lost by then as the whole team didn't believe that they were going to score, we could still be there today and wouldn't have scored yet.

I think that AM will go back to basics for the Boston game and try to keep it tight at the back and maybe try to snatch a 1-0 win which I think we are more than capable of, for me he needs to start Mettam and Taylor who I believe offer more going forward than Styche and Jackson, whilst Taylor offers more defensively, I would also get Sampson back in the defence and I would possibly try C Smith at right back if Vidal or Green are still out, however I'm not sure if he can play this role or not.

At least the talk is about us making the play offs and not staying up as I thougth it was going to be before AM took, so I will look on the bright side and say we have the nucleus of a very good side should we need to build again for a promotion push next season, and with a few signings one that may be able to compete in the prem.

Hello ... As one of the few travelling fans from Gainsborough I can agree with abcdefg the fat bloke and the old guy had your strike force in their pockets . Not that your players were rubbish it was that the defence were better . Trinity are very gratefull for the 3 points but one downside to it is that it gave Boscum a little more edge over you . So please go to Boscum tomorrow and kick ass . Good luck with the rest of your season and hope you take play off spot from Boston
