Yes it was a bad , but they are probably are still the best Midlands team we have, in terms of overall trophies and crowds, will they shed 200 fans to us after that , No, I would love all Midlands teams to do well, but the word Mid almost says it all.

Every season I get excited when the friendlies start, but this is clearly brought on more by the fact that I have not seen any football for months, more than the expectation of the friendlies providing entertainment.  In fact, every year, my excitement is quickly replaced by the frustration of watching poor quality friendly football, played by a Tamworth team of trialists I dont recognise or whose names are secret.

I'm not wading into the "a level pitch is the key..." debate again. There just aren't enough hours left in my life but as a general rule on friendlies, am I alone in just not caring? I understand the importance for fitness and developing team shape for management and players but as a season ticket holder who hates missing home games, I'm always surprised at the ease with which I miss a friendly.

The only suitable analogy I can make is it's like bunking off school when you were a kid. Unless you're mental, you wouldn't choose to miss P.E. but given half a chance you'd give Maths a swerve wouldn't you? That's sort of how I feel about friendlies. I wouldn't abolish them, I acknowledge their purpose for existing but they just aren't for me.
