Credit where it's due, Ashton rested virtually a whole team Saturday and got stuffed 1-4 at home by Witton Albion to ensure they were ready to face that mob. It's given us at least a season's grace as by the law of averages they'll get up one year...but at least it's not this one.

For the above reason, I'm a massive Ashton United fan this week with the possibility that I may desert them for AFC Fylde or Worksop. Please God, someone beat them Manc mouth breathers.

Both teams coming up from the Southern League will be more South than us as well, Hemel Hempstead for definite and one of Chesham, Cambridge City, St Albans and Stourbridge.

We might get the delightful FC United of Manchester and their fantastic fans as well if they win their play-off.

Its going to be an interesting summer. See who we can attract now.

Maybe offer Moyes the job. He likes to manage teams in red who are going nowhere !!!

1. If he goes ahead and lays down a 3G pitch, are they banned in all Conference Divisions ? If so, which League does he envisage us in next Season ?

2. If they are allowed in the Conference North but not the National, should we win the League or play offs next season, would we not be able to go up ?

Maidstone (and possibly others?) are challenging the Conference's ban on 3G pitches and are likely to win, this will mean 3G will be allowed in all three Conference divisions.
