Went to FGR game. Result flattered the team. No passion, no flair. Again, started playing when behind. Anyone see Alfreton game? Was the football better?
Now 9 points off safety with 9 games to go. Only 3 of those at home.

Think we are 8 points back, but anything other than 6 points from these next two games will see us down. Seems we have signed someone from Corby I think, and despite playing ok against Macc, due to the frailties at the back we have to score 3 goals to win a game.

Starting to think it could be better to go down, re-evaluate and hopefully return in a few years, most have grown tired of taking the crap full time players that we seem to be farmed from the football league every year.

Everyone is already writing us off for staying up, would love us to prove them wrong but honestly I can't see it happening.

Love the new forum by the way, although there are issues if you use your old username.

Like Grauniad in the OP I went to the Forest green game and I share his view. Forest Green were not even at full pace, playing like a typical mid-table side with nothing to play for, and still had no trouble coasting to a comfortable 2-0 lead. The only reason we came back into the game was thanks to FGR's sudden and inexplicable loss of discipline, but we still couldn't exploit it enough to even get a point.
I won't critcise others for having hope of escaping, but I can't see it myself. Unless there are three AGM cups awarded at the end of the season we are going to be playing Conference North football next season.

I was at Forest Green as well and for me the back five all season have been poor but it doesn't help with so many loan players coming in. For me this season the keeper alone as cost us 10-12 points with his gaffs Nuneaton x 2, at this level that's unacceptable!
