Hi Folks

If we get enough People to agree with this , it needs to be discussed by the Board ASAP.

Should also INCREASE the gate - people do not expect a sloping pitch at this Level of Football.

Could take out a Loan for the costs - Interest Rates are very low at present.

COME ON BOB ANDREWS / THE BOARD - GO FOR IT !

MOVE THE CLUB ONTO BETTER THINGS !!

If you can honestly find me one person who attends a football match on account of the flatness of the pitch I'll happily fetch you a pint of your choice at our first home game of the season.

I do mind, that may have been excuse ten years ago, but most school pitches are leveler than ours, is it an advantage any more , no, is it that bad no, is it good enough for a higher standard no, is it good enough at this level, yes, ? So which way does the club want to go.

And there lies the million dollar question, and one that has been discussed on here many times. Is it better to have a club that lives within its means and plays at a slightly lower level, with facilities to match, or should they speculate to accumulate ?

Don't forget, if you level the pitch off, the Snowdone end will rise around 7' so you will have to raise everything behind the goal and also down both sides in proportion.

If you lower the meadow street end, all you would see on the terraces would be the goalkeepers head !

That'd make it like the old away end by the canal at St Georges Lane (Worcester's old ground) which was quite cool in a way. You stood at the front of that terrace and your feet were about level with the crossbar!

A FLAT PITCH IS "DEFINATELY" EXPECTED AT CONFERENCE PREMIER LEVEL AND ABOVE !

In fact , now it is expected by paying supporters at Conference North & South.

Is there any club at Tamworth´s level with a sloping pitch ?

Like others have said , 10 years ago a sloping pitch put us at an advantage.

We NEED to move the Club forward with a more professional image AND A FLATTER PITCH ASAP !!

Obviously we DON´T wish the Ground to become like a Library - devoid of any real atmosphere, which we still have , thank goodness !!

But if we go the artificial route, it will have to be levelled anyway wont it?.

Suppose we could NEGOTIATE with the Snowdome - they could extend their SKI SLOPE to the LAMB and the same time provide US with enough money to build a NEW Ground ! !

Bored end of season bullsh*t time again. Levelling the pitch petition. I will sign for what good it will do me.
I like happy reds idea of septic tank emptying. If everyone who signs the petition brings a bucket of sxxte to every pre season game the pitch could be level by the time season kicks off.
Any builders out their willing to make sidelines good for health and safety welcome.
Bob is having sleepless nights already. What will we do with this club of ours?

So, you're putting yourself forward as the fan who's enticed in by the flatness of the pitch and you're going to do it on the opening day following a summer where we haven't levelled the slope? I love this forum!

In seriousness, find me the fan who says "I'm here because I love that flat pitch" - doesn't even have to be a Tamworth fan - I'll extend it to any ground within reasonable travelling distance and I'll come up with the pint. Yes, my wallet will take a pounding if it's JD but I'd love to meet that person and discuss their mental health with them while you have your stomach pumped.

There are some issues at this club undoubtedly and the slope on he pitch is not one of the most pressing by a long shot. If Roman Abramovich  rocks up and buys the club with unlimited funds to do everything, then let's get the pitch done. In the mean time, I can't get too excited by it.

PRICEY2 - a flat pitch MAKES us look a MORE Professional Outfit.

A sloping pitch is not on for OUR Level of Football - a flatter pich would seem to IMPROVE the quality of Football played.

Is there a current Conference North / South Club with a sloping pitch , other than us ?

NB
Shall share the PINT of Jack Daniels with other Tamworth Supporters , WHO genuinely SING to get behind the Team ! e.g. Henry , Pellet , the Chap with glasses and black hair ( who recently GOT Married ) , the one who wears the Navy Harrington, the one who wears the burgundy Pretty Green Harrington.

PRICEY2 make the Pint a Stein glass !
