Lost 4-0.

Didn't look like scoring tbh plus 2 of their goals were a defensive howler from Lane and an OG.

Not struck on this trialling keeper.

Well beaten by a good Villa side.We will always struggle against these fit young lads and thought  defensively we did ok until the last 15/20 minutes. What concerns me is how poor we look as an attacking force, with little flowing football and nobody looking like a striker who will get us the goals. To be honest ,dont think we are anywhere near having a team ready for a season which looks  like  being very tough.

Deeny's errors caused problems and Styche played to his best ability, falling over and making sure he was offside.

Well you've all changed your minds dramatically.I rest my case.

Highrise, couldn't agree more. From Solihull to Hednesford to last nights game oh how opinions change so quickly. Fickle comes to mind. In need of another striker asap, if Reid or Styche won't score I worry where other goals will come from. We play the ball around nicely with no end product. Last nights game was a pleasure to watch, young lads playing fluid attacking football. Yes we won't come up against teams like that in our league but it was a good workout for our lads. I will wait until 5-10 games in to reserve judgment on this team and won't be getting on lads backs if they don't perform, after all this is non league.

'Fickle' - think 'Pickle' more appropriate and we will be in it without quality additions up front. Don't get 'after all this is non-league' comment' - Players are well paid at our current level - would understand your comment if we were performing several leagues below?

What don't you get Argus? Non league is non league regardless of what players are paid, they are here for a reason and that reason is because they aren't good enough to play at a higher level, there are exceptions that some players like to stay in non league and be part time. The majority of fans on this forum are extremely pessimistic and when I said fickle I meant fickle. There will always be players that aren't to the liking of fans, deeney styche Clarke green Durrell etc the list could go on, but for me as long as they try and put the effort in I will never sl*g any of them off.

What do you expect with the fodder we've been served up over many seasons. Even TFC management and Chairman have admitted last few seasons have been pretty poor as well. Would really love to be able afford those rose tinted glasses you own and wear during match-days Peg.

I know lads getting paid more than Tamworth players at a lower level so money doesn't and shouldn't come into it ,you play for your shirt and club regardless

Does that mean you go to every match, pay your hard earned money, expecting a poor performance and get beaten. What's the point of that attitude. Much better to go expecting a good afternoon of entertainment with the possibility of a win.

When you say well played at this level what exactly do you mean ,do you have inside info on budget and players wages ..
I can't see the playing budget being a great deal ,hence AM being patient with signings

Worse stilll last year away - many of us die-hards did just that and got what we expected on tin - absolutely nothing time and time again - have you not seen the likes of IOM and HR comments wasted £ in hope following us away and will do same next season I'm sure - what about you - how many did you get to Bof

Not as many as I would have liked to due to shift work. I might be a newly on here but I've been a supporter since the 80's so I've had more than my fair share of ups and downs. Agree more ups back then than recent years so I can't disagree with that. It is hard to take when you see the likes of our neighbors Burton and you see how they have had the breaks with financial support, you can really start to believe it's true when we here "no one likes us, no one likes us". I just wait and hope that the good times will be back......one day. Maybe this season. "Always look on the bright side of life"

You can't really compare us to Burton bof my old fruit, they made there own financial support by having a good cup run a few years ago and put the rewards to good use by getting a strong side together.Cant remember us stringing a decent cup run together since Everton to help our cause,AM and his teams have never seen bothered about doing any good in any of the cup competitions that we enter. What happened to the Everton money anyway?

1. You are telling me the players wouldnt be bothered about  the chance of a run in the FA Cup and the prestige that goes with it?
2. You think Bob Andrews wouldn;t deman an FA Cup run.
3. Since AM has been there, we have faced Southport (who were league above, and beat us on penalties), Alfreton (same level, no mugs) and Kidderminster away. It's the luck of the draw sometimes.

Benjamin, I think you are being a little devious here. What about our failures in the recent Birmingham Senior Cup are you pretending that they didn't happen?

If you read  Bert's thread, he's on about  how Burton made money  from cup runs .. the BSC is irrelevent in terms of finance, even though I enjoyed us reaching the final a few years back.
Sadly, we  withdrew  from the Staffs Senior Cup in the Mills era, not much weight has been ut on such competitions.
