Play a little better than Tuesday night and no reason why we won't win convincingly, plenty of shots again,a few more on target and it will be 3-0 to us.

Blyth 1 Tamworth 2 (Taylor, Styche)

Doubt Styche will be in the starting line today after his last two very dismal performances, the lad that came on in his place put in a fine display and had some good touches with his feet and head.

Glass of wine in hand overlooking a massive lake with water splashing against the good ship taking in a bit of summer breeze - listened to the match on their local radio - to be fair not biased like many. However what's keeping me going at moment with AM although diminishing by the minute is that we are at least trying to play football. Take on Pinkys comments however we have ONLY played teams who will be struggling this term. Next 2 games will be πŸ”‘-

Going to be a long long season..this is the worst tamworth side I've seen since Armand one donned the red shirt but he'd be a god send at the minute.it seems like all the football club is interested in is making it a community club filling all possible bookings for the plastic pitch and the first team is way down the pecking order as is ground inprovements resulting in the worse squad in many many years

Same but what do we expect once you get the plan from the board just think conciliation, survival to move on, lets hop their's more rubish than us, , early days but not the best of starts.

Keeping my mouth shut tonight almost    - 6 points from next 2 home games will appease but everyone on here realises we need players who can score goals - at least prediction of 17th whilst playing football (unless AM loses his bottle) will be better than finishing 17th playing hoofball - oh hum best not to expect much

I went to Huddersfield v palace today and can I just say Huddersfield had a game plan ,not much football played ,there main aim was to get a result ..
What I'm saying is RESULT is key not how you play football ..
Question to the forum ,how do you play football ..
My answer is you play to win

Too right. I know it's only the third game of the season, but it's squeaky bum time already. These games at the start of the season and against teams like Blythe are the ones we need to get the points on the board, otherwise we can't afford to have our Christmas slump we seem to of become accustomed too. The faith in morrell is dwindling fast.

Not a good start from Lambs and has not inspired me to venture down anytime soon. Although he has strengthened in midfield both forward line and especially the defence have not. It didn't take much working out that last season we conceded goals regularly and have lost one of the top goalkeepers in the division but have stuck with the same slow back four.

Plus they expect a 1000 plus attendance at home games. Why would another 500-600 (if we manage to hold on to the existing fan base) part with their Β£12 to witness another lacklustre season. Plan A. Spend the money to enhance the team, win the games and then the fans will come. More money in the bank then look at the improvements. = Success and improvements. Plan B. Improve the ground. Continue struggling with the team we have. Survive in the league or worse, have a lovely ground = Failure and no fans. Doesn't look like rocket science or is that the problem, it's too simple. KISS.

RESULT is indeed πŸ”‘ FB but having a double wammy of NO RESULT and NO FOOTBALL is worse than at least trying to play it on floor and getting beaten - what looks clear during first few games however is fact that whatever way we play we will do well to finish even in 17th WITHOUT quality ADDITIONS

Odd  team to select. We had Cooper, Ebdon, Whitehead, Follet, Warner, Robinson and co that year, finished 17th in the Prem.
We have had far worst teams since then

No research required, remember the season well.
Nice that you can judge current squad on three games, especially when they played very well at Leamington

That's the problem at present, there's no consistency about the team, and like somebody said in an earlier post all this club seem interested in is making money out of the plastic pitch and other things that us die hard fans ain't even bothered about, surely you should put the Ist team first and build a decent squad that can play and win consistently and get the fans back. We're going backwards,to many old fuddy duddys on the board and committee,we will end up like Mile Oak Rovers and Bolehall if we're not careful.

Well, Well, Well the depresent squad are out already,.
My summary of the last three games which I have watched .
Still not sure of the Keeper does not come off his lines to help the defence , happened several times yesterday and in previous games.
Defence Jack Lane is having a nightmare start to the season with poor decisions and passing costing goals like last Saturday and yesterday. Upton must still be untying himself as the tied him up it knots.
Jones ( never a penalty yesterday) but overall a good start to the season
Verma and Deeney I believe are possible the best two in the league , but had to much ground to cover yesterday
Morley solid performance and getting fitter with each game
Taylor never lets you down but really should be a very reliable sub.
Knights has pure quality particularly working with the centre two midfielders
Burns puts a lot into a game and for some reason did not argue witth the ref., scored a great defective goal mid week now thinks he's Paul Scholes
Styche not everyone's cup of tea but scored two out of three chances yesterday
Reid he came on as a sub, not more you could say other than that, oh! He's over weight and still unfit.
Fox same as Reid
Davies came on and put a few passes around.
I still don't like 3 at the back, particularly away from home, as yesterday I wide pitch which I believe cost us as they feed the ball wide every time with loads of space.
Looking forward to Boston on Tuesday night and victory. I still believe we have a good squad which will settle down and we just need to cut out the mistakes
Play 4 at back bring Ezewele in for Lane, Powell for Taylor and Jezeph for Rowley
Come on you Lambs

And how the management and board can let newton go and replace him with no striker who's got anywhere the amount of goals he has is mind boggling..hope I'm proven wrong but with the current squad and quality i can see this been a mid table season at best..unless we sign some quality very quickly..

Obviously don't want it this year and not ready for the big push up league or AM doesn't have contacts - either way left in same old same old - not sure ANYONE on here has disputed need for a goal scorer addition - no idea what's available but sure as dam expect our or any manager to have finger on pulse - Sorry not good enough

Not disagreeing with you Highrise but where is the income coming from if we didn't adopt this current plastic pitch and community approach?

I hazard a guess that 400 hardcore paying fans aren't enough to cover the current wage budget and crowds have been declining for years so blame the people of the town.

Easy to look back now but the damage has been done 5 - 7 years ago when we should have targeted National Premier survival more seriously. More could have been done in regards looking after our own supporters and if the structure in place now was introduced back then I'm confident we would be reaping the benefits by now.

Blame the people of the town - what utter - give them a product to support and they will however fickle - agree though that other income streams will be πŸ”‘ in us going forward - However message from forum is that many of us are getting disallusioned till those above decide to push the team investment button if it ever happens! But when and if it does do you want a manager who has so many close seasons to pick a squad able to compete and more importantly NOT build year on year

You have no evidence to suggest they would as they never turned out regularly in their numbers even in the decent early conference years.
Yes, they came out of the woodwork for the odd cup final and FA Cup (Everton) etc but the interest week in week out just isn't there.
You're talking out your arse again if you think changing the manager every season is the answer!!!!
We've been there and done that. God knows how many managers in the last 10 years without any success Ouch

Against 5 ex-football league sides if 7th, 7th and 9th place isn't competing I am not sure what is?

Don't get your arse comment - where did l ever say change our manager every year - remind me Scamp as you were much better at maths in our previous exchange/banter - - how many years has AM been given so far and in future

I haven't caught a league game yet but from looking at posts it sounds like Lane's game has gone backwards which is frustrating to hear. I honestly thought his pairing with Jones would improve with a pre-season behind them as last season minus the odd blip they were pretty decent together IMHO.

I think most would agree on paper we have a weaker squad this season; Newton's goals will be a huge loss. But we've seen average sides exceed expectations with the right manager and I believe this season could be the making or breaking of Morrell.

Just a simple observation - can see on Herald site all manor of bits and bobs about ex-players scoring and good luck to them - and obviously highlights on Twitter page but nothing about game or comments from AM - those on here who smell the coffee please direct me to an assessment from our leader - after all it's good to talk when you win but even more important when you lose - oh hum

OK,my verdict on the game. Surprisingly it wasn't as bad as it sounds, certainly not one of the absolute garbage performances that we are capable of. We looked good at times going forward, with Styche taking the first goal well and an unstoppable penalty into the top corner for his second. Where we lost it was being unable to cope with Blyth's pressing, hassling play which hurried us into mistakes. Jack Lane was poor, the keeper looked unsure when dealing with crosses and AM looked lost when it was obvious that we needed to do something different, but, as I said, it wasn't the worst game I've seen us play by a long way, bring on Boston on Tuesday. COYL!!!!!!!!!
