Someone's got to start this thread - brown noses surely won't - we are top of home league todate and finished 2nd in home form table last year - yesterday was shambolic - AM - keep it simple away - why go to top of the league Brackley and play football (total brave) and then go SR and start the hoof ball especially after Tuesday- dont be clever AM because your not capable - just play football - we are part time and that means change in tactics is so difficult- 2 years of sh*t away and counting

Not clever? Surely it takes more intelligence, tactical nous, call it what you want, to set a team up and get them playing the ball along the ground and actually win games in doing so? I wasn't there but I can only surmise Stafford's pitch favoured a more direct approach and if that is correct what is so wrong in playing the ball long?

The result sucked and it's a shame we are out so early on but to be fair to AM he's given us more things to cheer about than cry this season and even the best teams at the highest levels lose to lower opposition from time to time. We just need to get over it and bounce back in our next game.

Staffords pitch looked fine to me - long ball meant we actually neutralised our two best performing players of the season - first half we won absolutely nothing in air so why didn't we change back to our normal footballing approach in the 2nd - we again won nothing in the air in second half - our best chance from Powell came from playing him in on floor and him cutting inside and chipping bar.'We indeed need to bounce back starting on Sunday - great having such a brilliant home record but at some stage for whatever reason we will get beat and without picking up points on the road in any numbers we will start to drop places - thought you would find the number of Stafford threads taxing Pod - Come on you Lambs

Argus I'm going to be nice.
Just imagine if you was a Stafford Rangers fan mid table no chance of going up playing teams like Shaws Waterworks.
Mind you just shows you how times have changed Northern Prem was good league. Teams in there now are just village teams.
Anyway being you and i brought up toilet humour and Deep Purple of the past it made me smile.
Staying in this league is a must. Good luck hope you have better luck in the next cup.

Of course we will Red in the Trophy - feel the "flush' of success coming up - got to free ourselves of our 'constipated" cup form anyway and we will end up at the "seat" of learning - Wembley - see how l did that Youth - aided of course by 10cc lyrics ha ha

What planet are you from. We can't get knocked out any earlier unless we get relegated and it's been like that for some seasons.

Just to reiterate, I've said it is disappointing but there's no point dwelling on it now. The game has gone it is done and there's no changing the result. Reminds me of those idiot footballers who argue a booking after they've been shown a car; it achieves nothing.

Aiming for promotion should be the number one priority and although it's early days we're doing well in the league and are in contention. AM has given us a decent team it would seem when there was a lot of negativity surrounding the squad this season. Many myself included, had said we were weaker than last season but so far that seem to be wrong despite losing Belshaw and Newton.

A cup run would have been nice, on paper we should have beat Stafford but maybe it is a blessing in disguise meaning fewer games and fresher legs for concentrating on a promotion challenge. I'm just trying to put a positive spin on things. Smile

Thought I would put a different twist on it, instead of blaming AM, see other post

So it was the players who choose the long ball and by-passed or not passing at all to your 2 new saviours and now mine. Someone mentioned a 🌎 planet on here recently - well it wasn't entirely rocket science that it didn't work in the first half - comments please Youth why no change in the second half tatics please mate
