Looking at the forum since Morrell left, its pretty apparent that we all want a local manager that isn't going to cost the club a fortune.

I am sure Mike will want the job, but I just wanted to chuck out a couple of names:

  • Marcus Bignot - Chester are well reported to be in the s*** and he is a local manager, built Solihull up to be a National League North winning team before going to Grimsby.
  • Liam McDonald - Albeit Solihull didn't work out, he had success at Redditch, Hednesford and has got Rushall going again, moved a number of players into full time football.
  • Carl Adams - 3 Promotions on his CV at Coleshill and Stratford, Stratford are content being a mid table club so maybe now he will want a crack at a higher level.
  • Neil Tooth - back at Sutton Coldfield now, promotion on his CV and worked with a minimal budget in the early days, granted it went tits up for him at Hednesford but that smelt of other managers being out of work.
  • Mickey Moore - FL and NL experience, didn't work for him at Barrow but lives in Solihull and out of work, had success working with younger lads who have moved on.
  • Adam Stevens - flying at Grantham, had success at Coalville and Grantham have excelled last 18 months under his stewardship.
  • Neil Kitching - had success locally at Coleshill and Rushall, won promotion at Rushall and Stafford lives local as well.

I know he isn't a local lad but Billy Heath is available and has a proven track record at this level with two promotions. He proved at North Ferriby that he is very good with a small budget. He would however cost more than the ones mentioned above (some good shouts by the way). Talking of local managers, Paul Holleran would be a good option in my opinion if he would leave leamy.

Bit of a long shot this suggestion but I've heard a few would take a punt on Stan Petrov and I would have to agree. A name like that would boost the whole club, however he would cost an absolute fortune I bet.

Some very interesting names there. Think Mike Fowler is an assistant manager,a No2 and no more. Hopefully he could work with a new manager. It could be an exciting season next season. Somebody with a fresh outlook.

I say lets give Fowler our support over the next 3 or 4 games and see how it goes, if no good I’d look at Paul Hollerhan as he’s local and has a good track record at this level working within a tight budget, I’d also suggest he’ll have good contacts Petrov would be a gamble which could be costly....

Bill Heath would also be my choice. Think his style of management is what we need, especially in that 1970s suit

Fully understand comments on here over Fowler however agree Smithy - he needs to be given a chance so let’s see how he gets on in the next 5 games or so

FB I think the clue to “why” may be in the question . Drrrrrr “the Manager” drrrrrrr “ the Assistant Manager

Spoke to him a number of times, seems to have a good knowledge of the game.

Let’s give him support and a bit of time to change the way we have played or not most of the time

Fowler runs the scholarship side. Cheap fix paying one salary instead of two but it's still the same ideas.
